Brief
Firehouse is a Miami-based fast-casual food hall located in the arts and entertainment district. Located inside a former fire station constructed in 1926, the building itself is a registered national landmark. Designed by one of South Florida’s most prominent architects, this structure is one of the best-known examples of the Mediterranean Revival style of architecture. In our work to create the Firehouse Identity, we were tasked with incorporating the history of the structure into a modern brand that embraces the past, present and future of Miami.
Finding
We were deeply inspired by the physical attributes of the building but in creating a brand that transcends eras, we wanted to develop an identity that was informed but not bound by history. The arches used throughout the design were directly influenced by the architecture and the colors combine elements of the building design and Miami’s natural landscape. The resulting brand is mature, clear and functionally teaches guests about the history of the space while creating a modern interpretation of the original designs.
