Brief
Ipanema is a family-run Brazilian restaurant that has been in business since 1979. Roughly a year after closing their original Little Brazil street location due to the pandemic, we were approached to help relaunch this storied brand, while honoring their roots and reflecting their more upscale offering.
Finding
During our research, we were heavily inspired by the fonts, colors and mood from bossanova-era Rio De Janeiro and the timelessness of golden era midtown, N.Y restaurants that feel like they’ll exist forever. We chose the parrot as the brand’s symbolic mascot, because of the Brazilian tradition of passing this family pet down from generation to generation within a family, like Ipanema itself.
